RB51
Hi turb0,I have not heard of the system but hopefully someone will be along shortly with an answer for you - or at least somewhere to look up the information. In this new forum you do not need to format the text in paragraphs as the software does it for you. I have edited your post accordingly.R--
Rog RJ
From looking at the 4Kam Railcam site it looks as though the set should come with a power supply adapter that the receiver plugs in to.
Chrissaf
Do we assume that you have purchased this item brand new from a shop. If so ask the supplier you bought it from. if brand new surely there would be more instructions than just that little sheet to explain how to use the product. If you have purchased it second-hand and your images show everything that was supplied to you, then the likelihood is that the seller has only sold you part of the full product and other parts and instructions are missing. The 4Kam website indicates that a full kit is made up of several parts, but unfortunately does not go into any significant detail and there do not seem to be any downloadable instructions either.Wireless Live Camera systems on model trains & railroads

turb0
Hi folks,Yes it was a brand new Christmas gift. The receiver just doesn't seem to have a socket. I just hoped I was making a daft mistake and that maybe one my fellow enthusiasts had the answer, rather than having to wait until tomorrow to contact 4Kam.Thanks for your responses.Ian
Chrissaf
If in your photos the DC coax is on the end of the lead attached to the box with the aerial on it [there is no photo that you provided that showed where the DC coax lead went]. Then I would suspect that the DC plug plugs into a socket on the separately supplied charger that the website mentions. The website lists for the single camera kit the following box contents:[1 x RailCam Live Video Camera][1 x RailCam Cam charger/power supply][1 x Choice of receiver, TV or RailCam Viewer][1 x RailCam Instructions]Your photos all seem to be of the receiver. Your likely to get better advice it you had provided photos of all the supplied hardware in the kit rather than just one item from it in isolation. turb0
That's the problem. The receiver has no socket to plug the charger adapter into to power it... which is why I have supplied the pictures of the charger, instructions and the receiver. There is literally no socket on the receiver or attached cables for the charger to plug into... sorry if I have confused anyone with this.
LTSR_NSE
@turb0Looking at your pictures it would appear that this device’s power connection is the reverse of most devices. The cable is permanently attached to the receiver and the plug connects into the charger/transformer/power supply. You don’t appear to have posted a picture of the latter - was it included? Chrissaf
In your photos, the receiver has a lead that goes off the edge of the photo. What is terminated on the end of that cable? The charger instructions mention an RCA adapter for connecting to the TV, presumably this terminates onto whatever connector type is on the end of that lead that we can't see the end of. I suspect that the kit includes, perhaps another adapter that converts the connector that we can't see in your photos into a DC socket for your charger. If the connector in your last photo IS the connector on the end of the lead on the receiver, then the socket must be on the charger not the receiver.Obviously, anybody who actually has this kit would know all the ins and outs of it, we are trying our best to help, but we only have your photos to go on and they don't include the full picture [pun] of detail. 96RAF
Convention is for live power to be seen at a jack plug, and this mates with a socket on the device to be charged.I see no such device. The box with the antenna would be the likely candidate but this has the power out connection, suggesting it plugs into something else to maybe pass data like a video feed.Until we see more info on the complete system architecture I stand aside.
