TT120 July Announcement

Our second range launch of the year has arrived and features two brand spanking new tooling projects that we are thrilled to be sharing with you, alongside the return of some TT staples in new livery schemes. Without further ado let’s look at what’s been announced!

Class A3 - 60103 ‘Flying Scotsman’ (Preserved)

No locomotive is surely quite as world renowned as Class A3 No. 4472/60103 ‘Flying Scotsman’, and we are excited to present this icon in its current-day preserved BR lined green livery for the TT:120 range. Available either DCC Ready or DCC Sound Fitted, this LNER pacific will cause quite the fuss on your modern image model railway!

Class 66 Diesel Locomotives

A trio of vibrant Class 66 freight locomotives join the range this month, covering different eras of the ‘sheds’ working lives. First up is 66719 in collaborative GBRf & Metronet blue & orange livery, which arrived to the UK in 2006 for use on London Transport renewal contracts.

The second 66, 66727 is also a GBRf one, this time painted in the house colours of shipping company ‘Maritime’ – to mark the partnership between the freight operator and intermodal business.

21T Mineral Wagons

The BR 21-ton mineral wagons were introduced by BR between 1950 and 1960, and had a long-lasting service life hauling coal, ore and other bulk material. A further run of these far-travelled wagons feature in this months announcement, in BR grey livery with TOPS ‘Coal 21’ markings. They will be available as either a single or in a triple pack.

Toad ‘E’ Brake Vans

The much-requested LNER ‘Toad E’ brake van makes a return to the Hornby TT:120 range this year! Perfect for accompanying your rakes of freight wagons, this brake van is an intricate and authentic model of a LNER Dia.035 Toad E, and will be available in either LNER Bauxite or BR Grey.

100 Tonne TEA Tanker Wagons

Announced as part of the July 2026 TT:120 launch is our range of brand new TEA bogie tanker wagon models, covering the types built in the late 1960’s. Three liveries make up the initial run of these sublime tankers: Esso, Shell and BP, which cover 1960s, 70s and 80s era operations. Future runs will include TEA’s in schemes they carried in their later years, so make sure to look out for those if you are a modern image modeller!

LMS 20T Brake Van

Our other newly tooled wagon project for this announcement is our second entrant in the Brake Van family for TT:120: the 20 tonne D1919, D2036 and D2068 designs built by the LMS and BR. Tracing it’s origins to the delightful OO gauge model of the same prototype, this widely spread brake van lasted from the 1930s right through to the 1990s, by which time it was being used in the civil engineers department. They will initially be available in LMS Grey, BR Bauxite, and BR Engineers Olive Green – and just like the TEA’s there will be future runs announced next year so watch out for those!

That is all for July – we hope these reruns and new tooling projects will be cause for excitement and inspiration over the coming summer months. Our next announcement is in October and will feature something that a lot of people have typed online as something they are waiting four…
