Terms and conditions
1. Competition overview
1.1. The Hornby Golden Egg Hunt Competition (“Competition”) is an online promotional activity organised by Hornby Hobbies Ltd. Participants must find all six golden eggs hidden across the Hornby website storefront to be entered into the prize draw.
1.2. The competition will run from 10am 20th March 2026 to 4pm 26th March 2026.
1.3. Participants can pre-register between 13th and 20th March 2026 to take part in the activity.
1.4 The prize draw will take place on 3rd April 2026.
2. Eligibility
2.1. The competition is open to UK residents aged 18 years or older, excluding employees of Hornby Hobbies Ltd, their families, agents, or anyone else professionally connected with the competition.
2.2. No purchase is necessary to enter.
2.3. The competition is open to participants who have signed up to the egg hunt and have found all six eggs on the given storefront.
2.4. Marketing consent is recommended to receive the full experience, including emailed clues and rewards.
3. How to enter
3.1. To enter, users must opt-in to the competition via the button on the landing page or via the on-site pop-up. Participants should provide their email address and consent to marketing communications for the best experience.
3.2. Clues will be emailed to all registered participants who have provided marketing consent at 10am on 20th March 2026. Clues will also be available on the website.
3.3. Participants must find all six golden eggs hidden on the Hornby website. Each egg is only counted once per visit to the product page.
3.4. Once all eggs have been found, participants will automatically be entered into the prize draw.
3.5. Eggs will only count towards a participants progress when visiting the product page containing the hidden egg. Eggs spotted when browsing the site via product category pages will not count.
4. Prize details
4.1. Grand prize:
- 1 winner per participating storefront will receive a 50% off code for a future in-stock purchase on the given website in which all six eggs were found. This code will be valid for two weeks, from 3rd April 2026 to 17th April 2026.
- The winner will be randomly selected from all valid entries who have completed the egg hunt.
- This unique code is only valid for redemption on the given website in which all six eggs were found.
- There are no maximum spend limitations associated with this code.
- Codes are valid for in-stock items only and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers.
- Codes are valid for one use only.
4.2. Runner-up prizes:
- 4 runner-up winners will each receive a 25% off code for a future in-stock purchase on the given website in which all six eggs were found. The 25% off code will also be valid for two weeks, from 3rd April 2026 to 17th April 2026.
- Runner-up winners will be selected randomly from all valid entries who have completed the egg hunt.
- These unique codes are only valid for redemption on the given website in which all six eggs were found.
- There are no maximum spend limitations associated with these codes.
- Codes are valid for in-stock items only and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers.
- Codes are valid for one use only.
4.3. Participation prize:
- Participants who successfully find all six golden eggs will receive a 15% off code for a future in-stock purchase immediately upon completing the egg hunt. This code can be used multiple times and is valid from the moment of issue until 17th April 2026.
- This code is valid across all storefronts and is not limited to the storefront in which all six eggs were found.
- There are no maximum spend limitations associated with this code.
- Codes are valid for in-stock items only and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers.
- Participants who complete the egg hunt will also receive an exclusive one-day-only discount code via email on 3rd April 2026 as part of the Easter celebration.
- Hornby Hobbies Ltd may, at its discretion, send a small thank-you reward to some registered participants after the Promotion ends. Any such reward will be distributed by email, with validity dates specified at the time of issue.
4.4. Code distribution:
- Participation codes and prize draw codes are distributed automatically via the website or scheduled by Hornby marketing.
- All codes are subject to terms and conditions as outlined in this document and our standard discount code terms and conditions which can be found on our general terms and conditions page under the Voucher / Discount Codes section.
- Please be aware of potential scammers impersonating Hornby Hobbies or our brands. Remember, we will never contact you via social media and ask for any personal details outside of our checkout page. If in doubt, please contact us at customerservices.uk@hornby.com
5. Winner selection and notification
5.1. The main winner and runner-up winners will be drawn randomly on 3rd April 2026. The prize draw will be conducted by Hornby Hobbies Ltd in accordance with the rules.
5.2. The winners will be notified by email on 3rd April 2025 with details of their relevant discount code.
6. General terms
6.1. All competition entries must be received by the end of the competition period, as specified in the terms. Any entries received after this period will not be eligible.
6.2. Hornby Hobbies Ltd reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without prior notice in the event of circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
6.3. By participating in the competition, participants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions and any decision made by Hornby Hobbies Ltd in relation to the competition.
6.4. The prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other product or service.
6.5. Hornby Hobbies Ltd will not be responsible for any issues arising from technical failures, such as network errors, that may affect a participant’s ability to enter or claim their prize.
6.6. The competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with any third-party platforms, including social media networks.
7. Privacy
7.1. Any personal data submitted will be processed in accordance with the Hornby Hobbies Ltd Privacy Policy. By participating in the competition, participants consent to the collection and use of their data for the purposes of administering the competition and notifying the winners.
7.2. Hornby Hobbies Ltd may share winner details on its website or social media channels.
