Please read these terms and conditions carefully. By accessing or using this programme, you agree to be bound by the terms described herein and all terms incorporated by reference. If you do not agree to all of these terms, you should not participate in this programme.

These Terms and Conditions apply to your access to, and participation in, the Hobby Rewards loyalty programme which is operated by Hornby Hobbies Ltd or its affiliated companies (collectively, “Hornby Hobbies”, “Hobby Rewards”).

The programme is owned and operated by Hornby Hobbies Ltd, Westwood Industrial Estate, Margate, Kent, CT9 4JX. If you need to contact us, you can do so by writing to Hornby Hobbies Ltd, Westwood Industrial Estate, Margate, Kent, CT9 4JX.

These Terms and Conditions do not alter in any way the terms or conditions of any other agreement you may have with Hornby Hobbies for products, services or otherwise. Hornby Hobbies reserves the right to change, modify and/or eliminate Hobby Rewards and/or these Terms and Conditions or any policy, FAQ, or guideline pertaining to Hobby Rewards at any time and in its sole discretion. Any changes or modifications will be effective immediately upon posting the revisions to all Hornby Hobbies websites and you waive any right you may have to receive specific notice of such changes or modifications.

Your continued participation in Hobby Rewards will confirm your acceptance of such changes or modifications; therefore, you should review these Terms and Conditions and applicable policies frequently to understand the terms and conditions that apply to Hobby Rewards. If you do not agree to the amended terms, you must stop participating in Hobby Rewards.

This programme is not targeted towards, nor intended for use by, anyone under the age of 18. Please read the Privacy Policy carefully to understand how Hornby Hobbies collects, uses and discloses information about its customers.

About Hobby Rewards

Hobby Rewards is one way in which Hornby Hobbies endeavours to reward and thank loyal customers for purchasing Hornby Hobbies products and engaging with our brands. Hobby Rewards members are able to earn and accumulate "Points" that can be redeemed against future purchases and for other Hobby Rewards benefits ("Rewards"). Points can only be earnt for purchases and activities on Hornby Hobbies websites and can only be redeemed for purchases and other rewards on the same websites.

 

Joining Hobby Rewards

You can sign up to become a member of the Hobby Rewards in the following ways.

• By signing up and creating a Hornby Hobbies account, at which point you can join Hobby Rewards. If you have an existing Hornby Hobbies account, you can join from your account page.
• Contacting Customer Service +44 (0)1843 233502: (Opening hours Monday – Wednesday: 9am - 5pm Thursday – Friday: 9am – 3pm). As above, the membership registration process will not be completed until a Hornby Hobbies account has been created.

 

A member will need to provide the following information when signing up:

• Name of the member (first and last name)
• Valid email address
• Date of birth
• Country & region of residence

You shall be responsible for keeping all account information up to date and agree to notify Hornby Hobbies Customer Services immediately of any unauthorised use of your account or any other breach of security.

Membership will commence upon completion of the registration process.

 

Earning Points

Hobby Rewards allows members to accumulate and redeem Points for use towards Rewards on an individual basis and solely for their own account.

Points may be earned for a qualifying purchase of a product on any of our Hornby Hobbies websites. Qualifying purchases are defined as any service or merchandise available for purchase, excluding gift cards (if available). Members may also earn Points in other ways as specifically communicated in emails or in the Hobby Rewards account. Hornby Hobbies may also, at its sole and absolute discretion, award ‘bonus’ Points for certain actions (such as early enrolment or frequent activity). Additional rules and restrictions may apply to such bonus point promotions.

The method for calculating the Points is the same globally, but the amount of Points that a Member may earn on the purchase of a particular product will differ from country to country as the price may differ.

The points will be added to your Hobby Rewards account at the time of payment. These Points will appear as Pending until the end of our 14-working day return period. Pending points will become active after this time. Should you choose to return any items in your order, the pending points for those items will be withdrawn.

You will earn points on any pre-orders. These will become active up to 21 days after receipt of your product. During the wait for delivery of your pre-order, these points will appear as pending.

Postage/delivery charges are excluded for Point earnings. In certain countries (for example, the United States of America and Canada), taxes are separate from the purchase prices and are therefore excluded for earning of Points.

If Points are credited to a Members Hobby Rewards account by mistake, Hornby Hobbies reserves the right to cancel or remove such Points which have been issued to the Members account by mistake. Hornby Hobbies will not tolerate deliberate or knowing misuse of such error by the Member and such misuse may lead to immediate membership termination. All earned Points will be withdrawn in addition to a ban from future membership of Hobby Rewards.

Points will not be awarded on fraudulent or refunded/cancelled transactions.

Hornby Hobbies reserves the right to manually amend or cancel any orders with incorrect rewards points allocation, should any issues arise. Points allocation will be fulfilled as per the terms and conditions.

 

Redeeming Points & Rewards

Hornby Hobbies reserves the right to suspend, terminate, revalue or modify, without liability or notice to Members, all or part of the internal Points or Rewards value structure and offers as well as any merchandise or service. From time to time, Hobby Rewards may offer benefits or privileges to Members in exchange for redemption of a specified number of Points and/ or as a result of a specifically defined action undertaken by the Member (‘Rewards’). Rewards can include (but shall not be limited to): a discount when purchasing a product on Hornby Hobbies websites and third party offers.

There will at all times be a list of Rewards offered for redemption and the relevant terms and conditions available on the Hobby Rewards account pages. The nature of those Rewards, and the number of Points or the actions required to obtain such benefits or privileges, shall be established by Hobby Rewards at its sole discretion, may change at any time or from time to time, may be available for limited times, and are subject to change.

There may be a limited number of particular Rewards available, and those Rewards will be delivered on a first-come, first-served basis. Hobby Rewards reserves the right to modify, amend or revise the Rewards available. Members may not rely on continued Reward availability. The number of Points required to redeem any Reward may be substantially increased, any Reward may be withdrawn, and restrictions on any Reward or its redemption may be imposed by Hobby Regards or its designee or the third-party business partner supplying the Reward. Rewards are non-assignable and non-transferable and may not be bartered or sold.

Hobby Rewards reserves the right to substitute Rewards of comparable or greater value if any redeemed Reward becomes unavailable for any reason. Rewards pictured in point-of-sale, online, television and print advertising, promotional packaging, and other materials are for illustrative purposes only. The actual Reward may differ from the Reward pictured.

The number of Points required to redeem any Reward may be substantially increased, any Reward may be withdrawn, and restrictions on any Reward or its redemption may be imposed by Hornby Hobbies Ltd or its third-party business partner supplying the reward.

Points can be used only for the purposes expressly specified in these Terms & Conditions or as specifically set out in the terms and conditions for a Reward or promotional offers or activities from time to time. Points have no cash value. Points may be accumulated to earn Members a discount on qualifying purchases or to use on Rewards available.

Points can be redeemed on our websites. Conversion and payment of Points into cash or gift cards is not possible. Points earned can be redeemed on any Hornby Hobbies website, regardless of where they have been earned. The monetary value of all points will be displayed on your Hobby Rewards account. You can only redeem Active Points. Pending Points cannot be redeemed until they become active.

It is not possible to redeem Points in the same transaction in which they are earned unless otherwise specifically stated in the terms and conditions of an offer or promotion made by Hornby Hobbies.

Rewards are non-assignable and non-transferable and may not be bartered or sold.

 

Point and account expiration

If your Hobby Rewards account is inactive for 24 months, the account will close and any points held against that account will expire. We will notify you prior to that occasion. Your Hobby Rewards account will be considered inactive if there have been no points earned or redeemed within the 24-month period.

Upon termination of your account, your Points shall be deleted and Hornby Hobbies will have no obligation to offer you any compensation for any unused Points at the time.

 

Termination

You can close your Hobby Rewards account at any time through the Hobby Rewards account, or by contacting our Customer Services Team via phone or email.

Please note that when you terminate or cancel your Hobby Rewards Account, your points will be deleted. Your Account will also be deleted in accordance with our data policy.

 

Consequences of misuse

In the case of improper use for which the Member is responsible, Hornby Hobbies Ltd retains the right to terminate the membership or withdraw Points or Rewards, refuse to issue Points or a Reward or refuse to accept the redemption of Points or a Reward.

 

Personal data, data privacy and audit

We are a registered data user under the Data Protection Act.

Hornby Hobbies collects, retains and processes personal data about you in accordance with all applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation and applicable national, data protection legislation.

We will treat all your Personal Information as confidential (although we reserve the right to disclose this information in the circumstances set out below).  We will keep it on a secure server and we will fully comply with all applicable UK Data Protection and relevant consumer legislation.

Information that you supply is held securely, and strict security procedures are followed to prevent unauthorised access. We will not sell, trade or rent your personal information to others unless you authorise us to do so.

Third Party Sites and Services

Some Rewards or promotions that are made available to you in Hobby Rewards are offered/provided by third-party partners. Hobby Rewards may also make available third-party offerings or link to third-party platforms (e.g. social media platforms, websites, offers). Please note that these other websites are not under Hornby Hobbies’ control and Hornby Hobbies has no responsibility for the content of such web pages or platforms.

Furthermore, please be aware that such web pages or platforms may be subject to other terms and conditions for use and privacy that are outside of our control and you should therefore read and familiarise yourself with these before accepting the use of such sites or services. You also acknowledge and agree that Hornby Hobbies is not responsible for the accuracy, legality, appropriateness or any other aspect of the content or function of such websites. The inclusion of such links does not imply endorsement of the website by Hornby Hobbies.

Some Rewards or promotions that are made available to you in Hobby Rewards are offered/provided by third-party partners. Hornby Hobbies shall not be liable towards you for the provision of such Rewards or for any payment for goods and services, and any other terms, conditions, warranties or representations associated with such Rewards or promotions. Any matter in relation to such Rewards or promotions shall be solely between you and the third-party partner offering or providing the Reward or promotion.

 

Scalextric Club Members

Scalextric Club members receive 15 instead of 10 Hobby Rewards points for every £1 spent on Scalextric website.

• For orders: Points will become available to redeem 21 days after successful purchase payment, only for non-returned items.
• For pre-orders: Where an eligible Pre-order has been made, points earned by Scalextric club members will be accrued as pending points at a rate of 15 pending points per £1 spent. These will become available 21 days after successful purchase payment has been received, only for non-returned items, once the pre-order product has been released.

Hobby Reward point redemption: Hobby Rewards points can be earned and spent across all Hornby Hobbies websites.
