What can you find?

The One:One Collection Margate is made up of a range of rail vehicles; some  in need of restoration and some  in full display exhibition condition. Some of the locomotives, wagons and coaches will return to the rail network following future restoration and recerification , while others will remain as long term exhibits at the Margate 1:1 Collection Museum.

Most of the exhibits are owned by Locomotive Services Ltd or The Royal Scot Locomotive and General Trust. Others are “guest” exhibits, owned by third parties – for example the Winston Churchill’s funeral carriage and Black 5 45379. These are stored at  the museum pending possible future removal and restoration by their respective owners. These are honorary members of the collection.

Midland Pullman - Class 43 HST - Train Pack

RRP: £394.99

You won’t find this striking train in the One:One Collection museum just yet, as it is currently in service around the UK. But as it is still owned by the same team, one day, you might be able to bring your model train pack to Margate and photograph it next to the real thing.

There’s so much more

Already located and on display at Margate is possibly the largest collection of large scale model locomotives in the UK, including a magnificent 15” gauge Britannia, with more to come in the future. You can also find dazzling displays of original Locomotive and station nameplates lining the walls.

Of special interest to model railway enthusiasts is a magnificent working “0” Gauge layout measuring 35 ft x 12 feet and controlled using Hornby’s own digital chips. In addition there is a unique and functioning 3 rail Hornby Dublo “Double Helix” layout based on a display from Selfridges in London in 1958.
