After last year’s overwhelming success, ‘Join the Crowd’ is back!

To celebrate Railway 200, we’ve recreated our Margate layout at Margate station, bringing together music, modelling and memories in a way that only Hornby can.

This year, we’ve turned up the volume with the inclusion of local legends The Libertines taking to the stage at Dreamland Margate in our model world and in real life. And you could win the chance to be in the crowd at both events! Read on to find out more!

Visit Modelu at an upcoming event at Margate Station (dates below), or at their studio in Bristol. You’ll be scanned and receive a figure to keep, while another one will be sent to Hornby for placement on the layout for all to see and enjoy.

Marking the 200th anniversary of passenger rail services in the UK, our Margate layout will feature the Southeastern Class 395 in its Railway 200 livery.

The new livery, replicated in our miniature 4 Car Train Pack, highlights iconic landmarks along the Southeastern route, including St Pancras International, the White Cliffs of Dover, and the Turner Contemporary in Margate.

Meanwhile, the world’s first steam locomotive to haul a passenger train, the revolutionary Locomotion No.1 will stand out at the station for all to admire.
