This set includes a highly detailed model of a Class 37 Diesel locomotive, three colourful wagons, oval starter track, siding and controller.

History

Trainload Freight was the freight operating arm of British Rail, split into four sectors: Coal, Construction, Metals and Petroleum. 

As the name suggests, the Coalfield Freight train set depicts a prototypical freight train made up of a Class 37 and ‘Merry-Go-Round’ hopper wagons, named after the curved sidings at powerplants allowing for a whole train to be unloaded without the need for the loco to ‘run around’.
