The Hornby TT:120 range has now been live for three years and modellers have really embraced the idea of a scale railway they can fit on their tabletop. This space-saving version of your favourite hobby has welcomed a whole new wave of enthusiasts to the fold and we’re so excited to see how far we can take this scale.
We’ve got so much more to come, but for now, here’s a look back at our best-selling models each year.
The range was brand new back in October 2022 and we were pleasantly surprised by how enthusiastic your response would be to the new range. As a result, we sold out of a lot of stuff – fast!
As this was a brand new range, we were using all of this tooling for the very first time, giving us the freedom to pack in incredible detail and features on these miniature models.

This classic train set has been a bestseller throughout our three-year TT reign. It was our most popular item by far in 2023, as the perfect way to begin any TT:120 model railway layout. It includes a starter oval of track with a siding, one 4-6-2 LNER A4 locomotive and three coaches. And it’s still available to buy now.

The Easterner was our big seller, but our TT:120 version of the ‘Flying Scotsman’ was almost as popular. Once modellers had their layouts up and running, they wanted this well-known locomotive riding the rails. This might be a smaller version of the iconic engine, but its highly detailed and a real smooth runner.

We sold hundreds of wagons in our first year, but the 7 Plank Wagons were definitely your favourites. Their versatility meant they were a great fit for lots of different locomotives, especially the A3s.
You particularly liked the Hale Fuels and George & Matthews versions. These are both now out of stock, but we have plenty of other 7 Plank Wagons for you to enjoy, like the 7 Plank Wagon Triple Pack.

The Easterner may have stolen the show in 2023, but 2024 was all about the Scotsman – particularly our sound-fitted version. Led by an apple green LNER A1 locomotive, ‘Blink Bonny’, this highly detailed train set also includes three coaches with lit table lamps for enhanced realism, a 3rd radius oval of track and a track pack to extend your layout.

Modellers inspired by more modern technology were delighted with our HST Train Pack. Emblazoned with a bold Intercity livery, this set included the two locomotive ends of a train – one motorised and one dummy.
It was the first passenger diesel release to the range, but unfortunately it is now completely sold out. If you were hoping to buy something similar, we have Class 43 HST Train Packs in Virgin and GNER liveries available to buy now.

When it came to wagons, it was the 21T Mineral Wagon that got the most attention in 2024. This simple, but highly detailed design can now be found on TT:120 model railway layouts around the world, completing freight trains and enhancing industrial scenes. This wagon sold out very quickly when it came into stock.
This year, we released some Class 37 options for your TT:120 model railways, which have been a hit. Common features of these locomotives include a heavy die-cast chassis, a powerful five-pole skew-wound motor, and a dual bogie drive via a cardan shaft arrangement with a total of 12 driving wheels.
If you add a Next-18 decoder to any of these models, you can access the cab interior llighting, night and day headlights and separately controllable taillights.

Model railway enthusiasts have gone crazy for this dark green machine, which is still on pre-order at the moment. This Class 37 English Electric locomotive has NEM tension lock couplings and is a highly detailed example of the locomotive when it entered service in the 1960s. Secure yours now.

Although it’s still on pre-order, this locomotive is one of our top locomotives of the year. This diesel locomotive has inspired modellers around the world with its bold English Electric livery and its HM7000 capability. This highly detailed, smooth running model will look great on any layout, and you can pre-order yours now.

The feedback we’ve had from the Inter-City Train Set has been amazing, and it’s easy to see why its been so popular this year. With its highly detailed blue and grey livery, a powerful five-pole skew-wound motor and HM7000 pre-fitted, this is a TT:120 winner – and its available to buy right now.
Can you believe we’ve already been enjoying the TT:120 scale for three years now? We’ve had a great time creating highly detailed models and accessories that bring joy to hobbyists around the world.
