Hornby September 2025 News Update
This month has been all about new arrivals, so there's no reason for you to have empty model collections or sad-looking layouts anymore! Read on to find out what you can buy right now to reinvigorate your model railway hobby.

Birth of the Railways Train Pack
This stunning celebratory train pack features three models replicating some of the earliest locomotives to ever run on the modern railway.
Greater Anglia Class 755-4 ‘FLIRT’ Pride Livery 4 Car Train Pack
A symbol of inclusivity and an impressive four-car train pack for any model railway layout, this train has space for three decoders.
This attractive model was developed with support from Stadler and Greater Anglia. It has pre-fitted sugarcube speakers, two five-pole skew-wound motors and so many lights! Illumination can be seen on the destination board, headlights, door open lights, cab interior lighting, and cab step lights.

RailRoad Plus: GBRf Network South East Class 73 73128 ‘Kent & East Sussex Railway’ (DCC Sound Fitted)
This versatile locomotive model wears a stylish Network SouthEast livery and is already sound-fitted for the most authentic railway model experience.
TT:120 GNER Class 43 HST Train Pack
This train pack includes the two ends of a traditional GNER HST line-up, so you can complete the look with a couple of Mk3 coaches.
BR Stanier 5MT Black 5 44748 ‘Late Caprotti’
BR (Late) Stanier 5MT ‘Black 5’ 44907
Two beautiful ‘Black 5’ models are now in stock, bringing steam energy to your layout in the most elegant way. No 44907 is a web exclusive, so you won’t find this model anywhere else.
These are weighty models, with die-cast chassis and running plates. They have powerful five-pole skew-wound motors, flickering fireboxes and illuminated lamps. They are compatible with 21-pin decoders for HM7000 control.
Silver Jubilee Collection
Bringing the classic Hornby models back to life, our Silver Jubilee Collection features four stunning A4 locomotives originally named in honour of King George V. Marking 90 years since its record-breaking debut, the Hornby Dublo LNER Class A4 2509 'Silver Link' is back, alongside three other Silver Jubilee locomotives, all named in honour of King George V.
VE Day 80th Anniversary Collection
Our VE Day 80th Anniversary Collection celebrates some of the most respected locomotives in railway history, wearing an austere shade of black – as they would have during war times. These highly detailed models commemorate an important time in history with locomotives designed by Stanier and Gresley. Three of the four models are now in stock, but the last one is coming soon!
Smokey Joe Train Set

Cakes for cancer
We held our annual Macmillan Coffee Morning last week, and as usual, the Hornby Hobbies team baked some truly delicious offerings to help raise money for the cancer charity. We raised a total of £555 which will go towards supporting those affected by the disease.

We can’t wait to see you all at GETS this year. The Great Electric Train Show has over 30 layouts for you to admire, including Pete Waterman’s legendary Making Tracks 3. On the Hornby stand, you’ll find our latest products and samples.
The Great British Model Railway Show
25th-26th October 2025
We’re sponsoring GBMRS this year and we’d love to see you there. Come and chat to us about your model railway hobby and then enjoy over 40 layouts, 30 specialist traders and 10 modelling demonstrations. This year’s show is set to be the best one yet – don’t miss out.
