Former automotive designer, Hal Joyce, introduced The ‘TT’ (Table-top) scale for railway modelling in the US in 1945. Walter Lines, chairman of the Lines Brothers toy manufacturing company, visited Europe in 1953 and returned with a train set manufactured by Wesa of Switzerland. He instructed Rovex Scale Models, manufacturers of the Tri-ang Railways ‘00’ system, to immediately create a Tri-ang ‘TT’ system.
